Personal Finance & Budgeting App
A smart finance management app designed to help users plan, track, and optimize their monthly spending with ease. Features include calendar-based tracking, goal setting, and a clean, intuitive UI for better financial control.
The Idea & Design
The Idea
The calendar acts as a central hub where users can add and track important financial items such as subscriptions, mortgages, car loans, personal loans, savings goals, and any other expenses that require reminders. This bird's-eye view allows users to see their financial commitments at a glance, providing valuable insights into their budgeting for the current month while also enabling easy comparisons with previous months.
The Design
I chose greenish yellow or Parchment as the primary color because it symbolizes growth, financial stability, and prosperity, all key elements of personal finance management. The design is clean, modern, and user-friendly, ensuring that users can navigate the app effortlessly without unnecessary complexity. My goal is to create an intuitive experience that simplifies financial planning while making it visually engaging.

Splash Screen and Concept
The design should be simple, modern, and aligned with current trends to attract users across different demographics. A clean and intuitive interface ensures that people of all ages and backgrounds can easily navigate the app without feeling overwhelmed.
By focusing on modern aesthetics and user-friendly functionality, the design creates an engaging experience that appeals to both tech-savvy users and those new to financial management apps. Keeping up with design trends also ensures that the app remains visually appealing and competitive in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

Onboarding Design
The onboarding section should be simple, straightforward, and engaging, ensuring that users can quickly access the app without feeling like the process is too long or tedious. A seamless onboarding experience helps users get started effortlessly while keeping their attention.
To achieve this, we can provide a brief yet impactful introduction to the app, highlighting its core functionalities and benefits. By giving users a quick insight into how SavvySpend helps them track, manage, and plan their finances, we create an engaging first impression without overwhelming them with excessive details.

Homepage and Core Functions
This section represents the core functionality of the application, where users are greeted by a full-screen calendar designed to serve as the central hub for managing their finances. The calendar will be populated with items such as subscriptions, loans, and other financial commitments, based on the dates provided by the user.
To enhance usability, the interface includes multiple sections that provide key financial insights at a glance. These sections include:
1. Current Month Overview – Displays a summary of financial activities for the selected month.
2. Expense Breakdown – Automatically calculates total expenses for the current month based on the data inputted into the calendar.
3. Upcoming Payments – Highlights upcoming bills and due payments, helping users stay ahead of their financial commitments.
4. Paid Transactions – A section dedicated to tracking completed payments, giving users a clear history of their past transactions.
By organizing financial information in a structured and easy-to-read format, this design ensures a seamless user experience, allowing users to plan, track, and manage their finances more efficiently.

Add Item Functions
For the item-adding process, I intend to utilize drawer sheets to provide users with quick and effortless access. This method enables users to open, complete, and discard the form seamlessly, without interrupting their workflow. Unlike full-page modals or separate screens, drawer sheets maintain a lightweight and non-intrusive experience, making it more convenient for users to add items on the go.
The form is designed to be simple and efficient, ensuring users can input all necessary details with minimal effort. Key fields include:
1. Item Name: To identify the subscription, bill, or payment.
2. Date: The due date for the payment.
3. Cost to Pay: The amount to be paid.
4. Who to Pay: The recipient or service provider.
5. Reminder: A notification to alert users before the payment is due.
6. Payment Method: The method by which the payment will be made.
Additionally, I may consider incorporating more fields based on user feedback, such as categories, recurring payment options, or custom notes.
This straightforward and intuitive process allows users to effortlessly add financial commitments to their calendar, ensuring that managing subscriptions, bills, and expenses remains as simple and hassle-free as possible.

View Item and Popover
Users can simply tap on an item’s icon to view its details, making it easy to access information about their subscriptions, bills, or expenses.
1. Single Item View (Left Side) – If there’s only one item on a specific date, the details will be displayed directly, showing essential information such as the amount, due date, payment method, and recipient.
2. Multiple Items View (Right Side) – If multiple items are scheduled for the same date, users will see a list of all entries for that day, allowing them to select and view details for each one individually.
Additionally, users can track the payment status effortlessly. Each item includes a "Paid" toggle button, which allows users to switch between paid and unpaid status with a single tap. This ensures they can instantly update their records and keep an accurate log of their financial activities.

Full Flow Prototyping
So there you have it! That’s the core idea behind my side project an intuitive financial management app designed to provide a bird’s-eye view of all my expenses, subscriptions, and financial commitments.
I believe this concept could seamlessly integrate into some of our favorite banking or financial apps, offering users a more visual and structured way to track their spending. By combining a calendar-based interface with smart tracking features, this app makes it easier to monitor payments, plan ahead, and stay financially organized all in one place.
With a clear, modern, and user-friendly design, I hope to create a tool that not only simplifies financial management but also makes the process more engaging and stress-free.
That being said, I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this design! How do you think it could be improved?
Are there any additional features or UI/UX enhancements that would make it even more intuitive and efficient? Let’s collaborate and refine this idea to create the best possible financial management experience!
